Reflection

Based on my experiences, observations and findings respectively.

This semester has been a painful experience for me. During the busiest weeks with plenty of submission deadlines, my laptop has broken down. I felt so stressful having to redo everything for I did not back up all my works due to my carelessness. I have learnt a huge lesson from this experience and had to force myself to complete what has to be done during this hard time.

From box making exercise, collaborating with Biosciences students to create a packaging design to designing the merchandising items, I’ve truly learned a lot of new things and gained so many experiences from this module. I had lots of fun from all the assignments although it requires a huge workload, from brainstorming the ideas, designing the packaging and to think of the user-friendly design. I appreciate Mr. Shamsul's feedbacks from week to week on my work progress to help me improve on my final submissions.

I’ve noticed that to create a good packaging design, we have to consider the meaning behind the design, shapes and form we’re using. I’ve also observed that every details are significantly important for packaging design including the sizes, clear space, colors, typefaces and more.

I find it interesting to look at different packaging designs with their unique meanings behind them. I’ve also came to realize that packaging designs requires a lot of steps and each step are significantly important. Last but not least, I’m glad I had the chance to learn about packaging and merchandising and to understand how a package is created and the reason behind the design through this module.
