REFLECTIONS

Based on my experiences, Observations and Findings respectively.

Learning online has its pros and cons. Pros are that we have more time to do our own work as we don't have to physically attend the class. While the cons are that communications are a lot difficult to be done online, especially getting feedback from the lecturers and getting comments on our work from our peers. For me, the first assignment has took me the longest time to complete it, I didn't know there were so many rules in this module and it was hard for me as I always added too much extra elements in my works. Balance is so important in typography, and it is also what I learnt the most in this module, to create a visually balance design.

In our first class, Mr Vinod has provided us some of our seniors' e-portfolio links as our references. During practicals, we were also taught to try giving comments and our opinions on our peers' work. From that I've learnt how to observe others' work and get inspirations from them. Since the first class of this module, I've also realised that I started to pay attention to all of the typography around me and think about how can they be improved or what can be learnt from them.

Throughout the 14 weeks of learning in this module, I've found that theories are important too in design. We have to follow some rules in order to create a better design. I've also learnt that graphical elements and typographical elements have to be used carefully and not overused any of them. I really appreciate some of my classmates who gives honest comments on my work for me to modify them into a better piece of work. I also appreciate both of the lecturers for giving so much patience and really care about our progress throughout all the assignments to make sure we are on the right track.  Even though I still think that typography is a difficult for me, but I realised that I started observing all of the typography in my daily life and I've had developed a huge interest in typography now.
