INSTRUCTIONS
LECTURES
Week 7: Task 3B - Typographic Sticker Design Briefing
During lecture, Mr Vinod briefed us about our Task 3B. We were told to express typographically a social message or greetings that is relevant to the society.
Mr Vinod let us choose our own greetings and write down our name regarding the greeting we chose in Google sheets so that we can start designing the sticker. I chose to design "Have a Good Day" because I want the sticker to be used not only on specific occasions.

I try searching for more typographic stickers of Good Day as my reference.

Mr Vinod reminded us not to use too many graphical elements and overdo it.

Specific Feedback
Mr Vinod said I shouldn't put big graphical elements as this is Typography module and I should be focusing on designing the typography.
REFLECTION
Experience
Compared to the previous tasks, this task has less restrictions. This task provides a chance for us to create our own stickerdesign and it was really a good experience. I've learned about what is a good design and how to develop my own design from the sketching my design to actually designing it out.
Observations
From the process of deconstruction to constructing my own sticker design, I've observed how to relate a typography to a mood. Even though just by seeing texts, the power of typography makes they text look like it has a certain mood.
Findings
Throughout the entire process of task 3B, I've realised that designing a typographic sticker isn't just about simply creating any sticker on your own but the theories we learned before is very important too. We have to observe, think, brainstorm and be patient enough to create a good typography and come out with a good sticker design.

Detail in Typography by Jost Hochuli
| Figure 2.1 Book Cover of Detail in Typography |
The basic structure of capitals is static and lapidary, the lowercase letters is dynamic.
| Figure 2.3 From left to right: Trinite Roman Condensed 2, Minion Regular, ITC Officina Serif Book, Scala San Regular |
When the upper half of the x-height and the ascenders are covered, it is almost impossible to decipher the text. If the lower half is covered, it usually remains comprehensible.
|
The upper halves of a, g and q of the sanserif face(Futura Book) are identical, so the letters can be differentiated in the absemse of the lower halves. They also differ little from p and o.
