RESEARCH / PROCESS
During our first class, We were to form a group with people from different specialisations to work on a specific project. After forming a group, we started to discuss about the project. We have created a whatsapp group chat for the convenience of the group members to drop their questions and discuss about the project. We jotted down the questions priorly and asked for more information during our first meeting with the client. We also made sure we understood the client’s needs and expectations before we started the journey.
Our first task is to do contextual research and have a brief idea of the top 5 known brands for kids wagon. Then, I was given a task to do the research on the Joey wagon. I studied their website, instagram and reviews from customer and learned about the wagon’s features and designs. It was a great opportunity to have learn how to obtain useful information and gain more idea for the product we’re designing.

On week 2, we had the opportunity to meet Mr. Damien and examine his product. During the session, we engaged in a discussion with Mr. Damien to understand his expectations and gain insights into the inspiration behind his product.
Following the session, we began to make a survey form for the market research. Once we completed the survey questions, our next step was to distribute them to our target audience for their valuable input. Our lecturer suggested that we approach them through Facebook groups. After getting the targeted responses, we started to analyze the collected data and incorporate it into our work to create a meaningful and impactful outcome. I was in charged for the overall summary of the data.

As me and Sky were specialised in Graphic Design, we were tasked with finalizing the social media proposal. Our responsibility involved determining the appropriate amount of content for platforms like Instagram, Facebook and YouTube while also generating ideas for the content itself.
In addition to brainstorming, I conducted some research on the social media accounts of various wagon brands, including Joey Wagon, Veer, and Wonderfold. The objective was to gain insights into how these brands effectively managed their social media presence and to observe the design elements incorporated in their posted content.
Then, we started brainstorming on the content ideas. After proposing and getting approval from our clients about our art direction, we started working on the content. I was in charged of the Instagram and Facebook Ads design. Below are the transformation and final design of the Ads. (The final designs are refined by Luisa)

After finalising the designs, I started on creating mockups for the postings.

In addition to this task, I was also assigned the responsibility of creating the unique selling point design for social media posts. I started by creating the layout of the postings as shown below.

As one of our group member did not complete his tasks on doing the social media postings, I was also assigned to design the Introducing the brand social media postings.
After everyone has done their social media postings, I was in charged to create mock ups for both the instagram and Facebook page.

REFLECTION
ExperiencesThroughout the project, I had the opportunity to collaborate with individuals from various specializations, which made me excited about the real-world application of this project in our future careers. The process involved forming a group, discussing the project objectives and create the respective marketing strategies in order to develop a strong and unique brand identity for the brand and product. Before diving into the project, we have to ensure that we understood the client's needs and expectations. It was a long journey for me and the group members to complete the tasks one by one but I'm glad to have such productive group members and a responsible group leader.
Observation
Having the opportunity to meet Mr. Damien and examine his product also help us to engage in discussions to understand his expectations and the inspiration behind his product. Throughout the journey, we faced challenges in reaching our target respondents for surveys but through approaches like using Facebook groups and reaching out to friends and relatives, we managed to gather the necessary responses. This experience taught us resourcefulness and adaptability enable us to overcome obstacles and gather valuable insights for our project.
FindingsOne key finding during the project is that conducting contextual research and summarizing our findings are important steps before we started to delve into our respective tasks. From our research and interviews, we learned that the wagon market in Malaysia is challenging, prompting us to shift our focus to the western market. This required rethinking our target audience and brand strategy. We encountered struggles in making amendments and re-strategizing, which initially led to frustration. However, we persevered and ultimately made progress in refining our designs and aligning them with our client's expectations. Conducting rehearsals for our presentation is also a good step to refine our scripts and ensuring a smooth flow. Despite the challenges faced, this project has provided me with valuable insights in market research, insights discovery, ideation, implementation and the importance of adaptability in delivering a successful outcome.
