LECTURES
INSTRUCTIONS
Technical Issues: My laptop was damaged by water and I've sent it to the technician here, it is still not fixed yet, I’ve tried my best to redo everything and include what is needed to be submitted. I am trying my very best to complete all my tasks of ALL MODULES in the library everyday (it only opens until 1pm on Saturday and closed on Sunday), so I do not have enough time to master all my tasks and e-portfolio.
PROJECT 1

We have to look for layout references for our book before we start doing it. Below are the references I found:

Cover Design
If a book is for sale, the cover is an essential marketing device that will function like a logo and advertisement. The cover design has to stands out in the bookstore and on the shelf. Moreover, it also has to look good when it's a tiny digital image on Amazon and other online sites.
Design Process
1. Define the problem
- What is the main point of the book?
- What attitude do you want to express (formal, relaxed, professional, raw)?
- Who is your audience friends, peers, potential employers)?
Keep these goals in mind when developing design ideas.
2. Research
Some covers are all type, others feature photographs and illustrations. Some covers are quiet, some are loud. Look at other book similar to what you want to create. Note the variety of design strategies and think about why some of them attracts you.
3. Brainstorm
Write down as many ideas as you can think of - good, bad, and ridiculous.
4. Prioritise
Analyze which idea makes sense with the book you want to create. Study the available resources and know which one are feasible to produce.
5. Try it
Keep in mind that illustrations or photographs must be high resolution and large scale to produce well.
6. Test it
Show the outcome to other people for reactions and feedbacks. Evaluate each design.
- Is the title easy to read?
- Do the images bring attention to the title?
- Is there a clear hierarchy of elements?
- Is the design conveying the intended message and tone of voice?
