Week 1 (29/08/2022)

In our first session, our lecturer briefed us on the module. We were to start the task by creating a matrix table before writing the Discussion part.  We have to determine the method and themes from the data collected in Design Research Methodology. I started by listed out all the themes and sort them out accordingly. 

Week 2 (05/09/2022)

 

I have showed the matrix I've done to Dr Jinchi and there's a few amendment I have to make:

1. Use Excel Sheet to do the Matrix as it is easier to arrange the information. (I've used Canva previously)

2. Rearrange the themes accordingly and sort them in the right column.

3. Add another column for literature support to include the additional data gotten from the literature.

Then, I started writing on the discussion part.

Week 3 (12/09/2022)

I have completed my final matrix last week and showed Dr Jinchi my progress. I have to separate all the texts into different paragraphs as they look complicated and is hard to be read. Some of the structures has to be modified. Also, I forgot to add citation for the data gotten from other sources and Dr Jinchi reminded me about this as it is very important.

Week 4 (19/09/2022)

I have done my writing until 5.3 for Dr Jinchi to check on my work. She reminded me to paraphrase properly as we have to submit our final dissertation to Turnitin. In section 5.3.1, I should discuss more about how emotional design is found in the posters involving different design aspects. I should also list out the posters and further discuss how the design principles are used in the posters. In section 5.3.2, I have to elaborate more about how visual communication and graphic design are used to convey about mental health awareness.

Week 5 (26/09/2022)

I have made some amendments on my draft based on the feedbacks given by Dr Jinchi last week and showed her my progress. I should include visuals and elaborate about how the design elements are used to create awareness in the posters. For poster 5, I have to explain more about what is the elements included in the poster to create visceral reaction. In point 5.3.2, I have to summarize the effects of graphic design elements in the posters and explain more about how graphic design is used as a visual communication tool to create mental health awareness. Besides, there are some citations written in the wrong formats.

Week 6 (03/10/2022)

Our submission date is in two weeks time. Dr Jinchi reminded me to add page number to the content page and change the previous parts (research methodology, results and findings) into past tense. Research problem should be included in the conclusion and elaborate more by summarizing about the posters.

• We are to use Excel Sheet as it is easy to arrange the information, I have to move my data from Canva to Excel sheet
• For some of the themes I've gotten from my data, I have to rearrange them accordingly and sort them in the right column 
• Add one more column as my Literature Support to include the additional data gotten from literature 

Week 3 (05/09/2022)

• I have to separate my texts into different paragraphs
• Some of the structures have to be modified
• Add citation to the sentences especially for the data gotten from other sources
• Refer to the senior work and know what to do for the report
• Overall good progress, Next week have to update until at least 5.2

Week 4 (19/09/2022)

• Remember to cite the paragraphs and paraphrase them properly
• For point 5.3.1, I should discuss about how emotional design is found in this poster involving 4 design aspects in 5.2
• List out the poster and further discuss how the four principles is used in the posters
• For 5.3.2, elaborate more about how visual communication and graphic design is used to convey about mental health awareness

Week 5 (26/09/2022)

• Some of the citation is still written wrongly
• In 5.3.1, include visuals and elaborate more about how patterns is used to create awareness in poster 1
• For poster 5, explain more about what is included in the poster to create visceral reaction
• In 5.3.2, summarize the effects of graphic design elements in the posters
• Explain more about how graphic design is use as a visual communication tool to create mental health awareness.

Week 6 (26/09/2022)

• Remember to add page number to the content page
• For the research methodology, results and findings section, remember to change everything to past tense
• Recap research problem to the first paragraph of conclusion
• Elaborate more in the second paragraph by summarizing about the posters
