LECTURES
Week 1
Netnography & Ethnography
Netnography Study is to gather data and information online to discover new knowledge which support your theory and hypothesis. Netnography is a fully online based research.

Figure 1.0 Netnography
Ethnography explores cultural phenomena from the point of view of the subject of the study. It is a way to organise information to support the hypothesis. Ethnography requires you to be in the culture. It helps you to understand the world from the standpoint of its social relations.

Data CollectionThere are three types of data to collect: The Archive which is the data without researcher's involvement, The Elicited which is the co-created by researchers and The Fieldnotes which is the observational and reflective notes.

Culture and Us
| Fig 2.0 The Iceberg model of Culture |
Culture can be defined as all the ways of life including arts, beliefs and institutions of a population. Culture is passed down from generation to generation as it has also been called the way of life for an entire society.

INSTRUCTIONS
Task 1: Proposal
1. Culture of interest
During our first group meeting, we all gave at least one idea of different cultures that we are interested. We suggested the Egyptian Culture, the Chinese Tradiotional Style Art/Paper Cutting Culture, the Music Culture, the Thailand Kayan Tribe and the Wayang Kulit Culture.
2. Research
After some discussions, we decided to choose the Culture of Wayang Kulit. We held a group meeting to discuss about the purpose in which relates to our chosen topic. After the meeting, we also keep ourselves on track by updating our progress in our WhatsApp group chat.

We came up with concepts for this project which are preservation and adaption. During our group's feedback session, Dr Jinchi suggested us to combine these two concepts together, which we decide on our final concept: Preservation through adaption.
For our next meeting, we started to brainstorm the preliminary ideas for our design concept. Same as the previous meetings, our group leader suggested us to give at least one idea each. We then gathered our ideas and have a discussion session on them.
Preliminary Ideas

While during our feedback session, Dr Jinchi explained to us that these five ideas are actually in the same aspect. She gave us some suggestions and asked us to hold a meeting after the feedback session to come up with a new idea.
So then we held another group meeting to discuss about what Dr Jinchi has suggested to us. After coming up with the final ideas for our design concepts, our group leader then distributed different parts of work to all the group members.

REFLECTIONS
To be very honest, I was a bit "blur" during the first week and not knowing what to be done in this project. All thanks to my group member and Dr Jinchi, I started to be on the right track as they have given lots of advices and help for me to complete my part in Task 1. I hope I can do better in the upcoming tasks and help mu group members to achieve the results we wanted.
